Roma president James Pallotta has echoed coach Rudi Garcia and expressed confidence that the Giallorossi will retain the services of defender Mehdi Benatia.

The Moroccan international impressed defensively and offensively last season for the Giallorossi and has attracted many suitors this transfer window.

After Garcia ruled out Benatia’s sale during his first press conference during Roma’s American tour, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Pallotta has also taken steps to ensure that the Moroccan will remain.

“Mehdi, let’s remain calm because this season we will win everything together,” the president is reported to have told Benatia after a brief meeting between the two.

Benatia, who appeared 37 times and scored five goals in his first season with the Giallorossi, has attracted interest from Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
