New Roma signing Antonio Sanabria is adamant that his switch to the capital was the right choice.

The 18 year old Paraguayan international was initially set to join the Giallorossi during the January transfer window but the deal was halted by regulations surrounding non-EU players.

The deal was finally made official last week with the ex-Barcelona youngster happy with his choice.

“The decision to come to Roma? Indeed it was a difficult decision, which took a long time. However, I think it was the right one,” Sanabria told GazzettaGiallorossi.com.

“Everyone has treated me very well. Among those who have impressed me most is definitely [Francesco] Totti, as is normal, but every member of this squad, because there are only great players at this club.

“Departure from Barcelona? Sometimes in life you have to make difficult decisions but in life it is necessary to take risks.

“As far as personal goals, what I want to do is train the best way to be available to the coach and to be ready.

“Who inspired me? My idol has always been Ronaldo, the Brazilian one. Today I like [Real Madrid’s] Karim Benzema.”
