Sassuolo are reportedly ready to begin their pursuit of AC Milan defender Cristian Zaccardo.

The Rossoneri have given the 32-year-old permission to seek out a new club ahead of the 2014-15 campaign and rumours have already claimed that Genoa are considering a move for him in the coming weeks, though it seems the Neroverdi are looking to secure his services as well.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Sassuolo are willing to compete with the Grifone for the Italian defender’s signature, though negotiations between the player and the club are still yet to begin.

The former Parma man, who is currently touring the United States with Milan for the Guinness International Champions Cup, is thought to be looking for a new team this summer in order to receive more time on the pitch next season as he was only able to make 11 Serie A appearances last term.

Zaccardo has made a total of 12 league appearances for the Diavolo since his arrival at the club in January 2013.
