Andrea Stramaccioni has spoken of his delight at being appointed Udinese boss after being officially presented on Thursday.

The 38 year old Italian was sacked from his last job as Inter boss in 2013, but is confident of doing well at the Fruili side.

“I never expected this reception,” Stramaccioni told Sport Italia. “I‘m proud to have been chosen by this club.”

We will need the fans for the upcoming season. Udinese is a place that fascinates me and all the impressions that I’ve once had here has multiplied by a hundred.

“Where do I start? I do not like to make promises but to give my best and try to bring out the best out of everyone for next season.

“[New assistant manager Dejan] Stankovic? The choice is born in the Inter dressing room. Already in Milan, he was more than a player and I think that he will do fine.

Between us there was a special relationship. The most beautiful thing is that despite having won so much, he still wants to win with this club.

Pozzo family? Their passion infected me and I hope to repay them. I’m proud of their choice.

Toto Di Natale? He is synomous with this club, he showed up for training and he’s still got a great desire to do great things.
