Inter president Erick Thohir has stated that he wants Fredy Guarin to remain with the Nerazzurri and show what he can do for the San Siro side.
The 27-year-old Colombian saw a move to Juventus in January blocked by Thohir after backlash from fans about the deal. Guarin declared he would not return to the club if he was not allowed to leave but eventually reconsidered before extending his contract until 2017.
Thohir spoke about his admiration for the player and how he wants the Colombian to show his commitment on the pitch while speaking with Sky Sport Italia.
“I love Guarin but it is important for him to understand that he has to show what he can do for Inter.
“Last season is in the past and we are starting from scratch. We need everyone this season as we are fighting on three fronts.”
The Indonesian businessman is hoping for a successful season and says the club are still looking to strengthen the squad.
“We are looking for a midfielder and an attacker, but our young players are improving and I think we have a good team overall. We have a few options on the market but I don’t want to name names.”
