Serie A club Torino have signed defensive midfielder Ruben Perez on loan from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
The 25-year-old Los Colchoneros midfielder has spent most of his playing career at other clubs but this will be his first loan spell away from the Iberian peninsula.
Torino announced on their official website that Perez has arrived at the club on loan but the club has the option to purchase the player outright.
Perez played 31 league matches for Elche last season as Los Franjiverdes went on to survive relegation from La Liga by one point.
He has only played one La Liga match for Atletico Madrid, and aside from his stint at Elche, Perez has also spent loan spells at Deportivo La Coruna, Getafe and Real Betis.
At international level he won five caps for the Spanish U21 team and he was a squad member when Spain won the 2011 European U21 Championship.
