cristoph kramerBayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voeller has refuted reports that have linked midfielder Christoph Kramer to Italian club Napoli in the summer transfer window.

Kramer, who was part of the Germany team that lifted the World Cup earlier this month, has attracted interest from a number of clubs, mainly from the Partenopei. He also had an excellent season at Borussia Monchengladbach, on loan from Leverkusen.

“Kramer to Naples? They are just rumours,” Voeller confirmed to Rheinische Post.

“It’s normal that the player has drawn attention after a good season and the World Cup in Brazil.”

Furthermore, the sporting director provided an insight into how the 23-year-old’s future is most likely to pan out.

“He will play another year at Borussia Mönchengladbach and then come back to us as he is an integral part of our planning for the next season,” he concluded.

Kramer made 33 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring three goals.
