Wolfsburg are ready to try again to lure Inter’s Colombian star Fredy Guarin to Germany, having failed once already this transfer window.

Guarin has been put on the market by Inter despite signing a new contract just last season, as the club try to fund moves for Gary Medel and an unnamed striker, with a fee of €15 million believed to be acceptable to the Nerazzurri.

Wolfsburg are believed to have contacted the player before the World Cup began only for Guarin to reject a move but, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they have returned for the player with Guarin’s hopes of joining an established European side beginning to dwindle.

It had been thought that Juventus or possibly Manchester United would make an approach for the player but no such approach has been made, and with Inter needing the cash to fund more transfer dealings, a move to the Bundesliga may be on the horizon for the all action midfielder.

Six months of turmoil for Guarin in Milan have seen the player almost leave for Juventus in a swap deal for Mirko Vucinic in a move that was blocked by the fans and subsequently saw the Colombian’s form fluctuate, allowing Mateo Kovacic and Hernanes to form a wonderful partnership in midfield.
