AC Milan are closing in on an agreement with Chelsea forward Fernando Torres over a permanent transfer.

The Rossoneri are trying frantically to bring in an ample replacement for Mario Balotelli who left for Liverpool earlier this month.

According to Sky Sport Italia the 30 year-old has an agreement in principle with Milan but needs to organise his release from Chelsea.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani held talks with Torres’ agent earlier on Thursday with the Italian side hoping to address his high wages.

The meeting with Milan went well, Milan is a real possibility for Torres,” his agent told Milannews following the meeting.

“We still need some more time to reflect before we make a decision, but Milan is a great club,” he concluded with a sense of optimism.

Torres’ entourage will now return to England with the view of agreeing a severance package with Chelsea to release the Spaniard.
