AC Milan are reportedly aiming to sign Monaco star Radamel Falcao on loan.

The Rossoneri are in search for a striker to replace departing forward Mario Balotelli, and the former Atletico Madrid man is seen as the ideal replacement for the Italian international.

According to Tuttosport, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi and coach Filippo Inzaghi see Falcao as the ideal replacement for Balotelli in terms of shirt sales, in addition to his ability to play in a 4-3-3 formation.

The report also states that the deal will need the financial backing of owner Silvio Berlusconi, as a loan deal for the player is set to cost the Rossoneri €15 million.

Tuttosport also claim that Falcao has stated previously that he idolises Inzaghi, which has urged Milan to make a move for the forward.

It is also worth mentioning that the 29-year-old scored nine goals in 17 appearances for The Red and Whites last season, before sustaining a knee injury.
