Robinho’s third stint at Brazilian club Santos is closer to fruition after club president Odilo Rodrigues confirmed talks with AC Milan and the 30 year old were at an advanced stage.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester City player, who joined the club in 2010, made 23 appearances last season contributing three goals and five assists in a tough season for the Rossoneri and it appears as though he is set for an exit from the San Siro.

“Talks are moving along well and we are doing our best in order to sign the player,” Rodrigues told Santos TV.

“We are doing everything to sign the player who reduced his initial requests. We hope to close out a deal soon as we hope to give this gift to the Santos fans”.

Robinho has scored 72 goals in 164 appearances for the Brazilian club after featuring for them from 2002 to 2005 and then on loan for 2010 season.
