AC Milan are evaluating the prospect of signing out-of-contract midfielder Stephane Mbia.

The Cameroon international, who was released by English side Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season, would provide competition to the Rossoneri’s existing troop of combative midfielders already at the club in Nigel De Jong and Michael Essien.

As reported by Tuttosport, Mbia’s signature is also being pursued by Galatasaray and Rubin Kazan, who could use the ex-Marseille man to replace Yann M’Vila  after his move  to Inter last month.

It is believed he is already in talks with these clubs, while Milan are yet to make an approach for the 28-year-old.

Mbia was part of Cameroon’s World Cup squad, starting each of their three group defeats.

Furthermore, he helped Sevilla lift the Europa League while on loan in Spain last season where he scored 5 goals in 27 appearances.
