AC Milan have made contact with Porto’s Jackson Martinez over a possible move to replace the departing Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli is expected to soon complete a €20 million move to Premier League side Liverpool and Milan have pinpointed the Colombian striker as the perfect player to be the new focal point of their attack.

Milan Channel has confirmed that negotiations to bring last season’s Primeira Liga top goalscorer to the Serie A are already underway.

It has also stated that the club are close to signing a deep-lying midfielder and an attacking midfielder, thought to be Blerim Dzemaili, and either Alessio Cerci or Adel Taarabt.

Martinez moved to Porto in 2012 and has been prolific in Portugal scoring 60 goals in 91 appearances. The 27 year old striker was also part of the Colombian side that made it to the Quarter Finals of the World Cup in Brazil scoring twice in three appearances.
