Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu has confirmed that AC Milan are trying to beat Fiorentina in the race to sign midfielder Fernando.
The 22 year old Brazilian looked all set for a move to the Viola, with reports stating he was a medical away from signing, but it seems Milan are trying to hijack the move.
Lucescu confirmed to Sky Sport Italia that the Rossoneri like the player as well, but Fiorentina remain firmly in front in the race for the Brazilian.
“Fiorentina have a strong interest in Fernando and the deal is set in stone already,” Lucescu stated.
“But, there is also Milan, a solution also acceptable to the player. The Viola [however] have the advantage.”
Fernando has one goal in 16 appearances for the Ukranian side since joining from Gremio.
