Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri acknowledged the fan reception of him and his club after his team’s first friendly in Italy this season.

The Bianconeri easily dispatched their Primavera side 6-1 on Wednesday in advance of their final preseason match on Saturday.

“It was a good afternoon and we were given a very warm welcome by the fans,” said Allegri.

“I would like to thank them for their involvement on such an important day for Juventus and the Agnelli family.”

Juventus will next play in the Trofeo TIM tournament, their annual round-robin match-up against AC Milan and Sassuolo.

“Juventus is working well,” said Allegri, “on the first day you cannot be 100 percent.

“We’ve worked well in spite of the late return of those participating in the World Cup.

“Now we’ll look to optimise our training in order for us to be ready for the big kick-off.

“Saturday’s Trofeo TIM contest is very important and will allow us to understand where we stand compared to teams like AC Milan and Sassuolo.”

Allegri was hired this summer when former coach Antonio Conte parted company with Juve by mutual consent in July.
