Antonio Conte leaves Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli out of Italy squad.

Conte - ItalyAntonio Conte has left new Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli out of his first Italy squad.

The 27-man party is due to take on the Netherlands in a friendly on September 4, before the Euro 2016 qualification match against Norway in Olso on September 9.

Balotelli is banned for the Euro 2016 qualifier, though could play in the friendly match, after collecting a yellow card in the World Cup match against Uruguay, his second of the competition. Claudio Marchisio is also suspended for the Euro 2016 game.

Recalled to the national side is AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy, who last played for the Azzurri against Uruguay in the 2013 Confederations Cup.

Defenders: Astori (Roma), Bonucci (Juventus), Chiellini (Juventus), Paletta (Parma), Ranocchia (Inter)
