New AC Milan signing Pablo Armero has insisted that he’s working hard in order to be in his best form for the Diavolo during the 2014-15 campaign.

The 27-year-old made his first appearance for the Rossoneri after coming on as a substitute in their 2-1 friendly defeat to Valencia on August 17 and he admits that he still needs to get into better shape ahead of the upcoming Serie A season, though he’s willing to give his all to the team and coach Pippo Inzaghi.

Armero spoke to MilanNews.it after AC Milan’s loss to Valencia on Sunday about regaining his fitness and which role he prefers to play in most on the pitch, while also commenting on what he wants to achieve with the San Siro outfit.

“I’m working to be back at 100 per cent,” said the Colombian international, who arrived at Milan on a season-long loan from Udinese on August 11.

“The coach gave me the opportunity to play today in order to see how I am on the field, I’m slowly getting better physically.

“I’m a player who likes to be fast while defending and attacking well. My main role is left-back, in both the national team and the clubs where I’ve played at throughout my career.

“The coach will decide where I play, but I like to go forward from the back. Inzaghi knows how to play me, he saw me play in other teams, I like to go forward but always starting from a defensive position. I’m preparing to be ready both offensively and defensively.

“What do I expect to accomplish at Milan? This season we need to improve and I want to give my best in every game. We need to develop into a nice group, just so we can win.”
