It is looking likely that Torino could lose Alessio Cerci before the transfer window closes on Monday evening, with Arsenal preparing a bid of around €20 million for the forward.

Cerci, who impressed for the Granata with 13 goals last season, has apparently now asked for a move away and has been linked with several clubs, both in Italy and abroad, over the summer including AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

With striker Olivier Giroud out with a long term injury for the Gunners, manager Arsene Wenger wants to strengthen his forward line and, according to the Daily Star, sees the 27-year-old Italy international as the perfect addition.

It is thought talks between the clubs are ongoing with Torino president Urbano Cairo suggesting that Cerci has half left the club.

His coach Giampiero Ventura has already expressed concerns over Cerci’s state of mind and has already stated that he will not feature in Torino’s opening Serie A fixture at home to Inter.
