Athletic Club striker Aritz Aduriz has hailed the support from the San Mames crowd in their 3-1 Champions League victory over Napoli.
The 33 year-old scored a brace to cancel out Marek Hamsik’s second half goal as the Basques club emerged 4-2 victors on aggregate too book their place in the Group Stage.
“We never stopped attacking, even after we conceded a goal in our home ground,” the veteran forward told Mediaset after the match.
“Napoli are a great team, but we believed in our own strength and in front of our fans it really makes a difference,” he concluded.
Rafa Benitez’s side will rue their mistakes as just Juventus and Roma will be representing Italy in the Champions League this season.
