La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have increased their offer for Torino attacker Alessio Cerci in the hope that it will finally prize the Italian international away from the Turin club.

After a sensational season for the Granata last season which saw them qualify for this seasons’ Europa League, albeit after Parma where denied entry, he has been the subject of widespread speculation of his departure away from the club and Serie A.

According to La Stampa the side from the Spanish capital have raised their initial €13m offer to €16m, slightly closer to the €20m valuation of Torino president Urbano Cairo, although he may hold out for the full amount.

Ligue 1 side Monaco have also expressed an interest in the winger, but the 27-year-old favours a move to a league that matches the level of Serie A, where AC Milan also remain interested in his signature.
