Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Torino’s Matteo Darmian as they look to replace unwanted Brazilian full-back Dani Alves.

The 24-year-old Italian had an impressive last season in which he made 37 starts for the Turin club helping them finish eighth in Serie A, resulting in a call up for the World Cup during the summer where he started all three group games for his country.

El Mundo Deportivo reports that after accepting defeat in their pursuit to land €40 million rated Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina, the name of the versatile defender is added to the growing list of full-backs linked with the Blaugrana that also includes the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Lukasz Piszczek and Fabian Johnson of Hoffenheim.

The Catalans though face stiff competition from eternal rivals Real Madrid who have also expressed interest in the Torino player.
