Bayern Munich have made an offer of €22 million plus add-ons for Roma defender Mehdi Benatia, as they look to take him to the Allianz Arena.

The 27-year-old joined Roma from Udinese at the beginning of last season for €13.5m, but has been attracting much interest after his first season from clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Bayern have submitted a bid €22m plus a potential €2m in add-ons. However, Roma value Benatia at around €35m and will not settle for a reduced fee.

Bayern have made four signings this summer, but only spent a total of €14.3m.
