Former Inter defender Giuseppe Bergomi believes that Juventus drew one of the easier groups in the Champions League group stage.

The Bianconeri were placed in Group A with last season’s Primera Division champions Atletico Madrid, reigning Greek champions Olympiacos and Swedish champions Malmo and the 50-year-old feels the Old Lady may have a good chance at qualifying for the round of 16 this season.

Bergomi spoke to Sky Sport Italia about Juventus’ group and admitted that they may have been luckier than some of the other clubs in the competition.

“This is a good group for Juventus,” said the Italian, who won the 1982 World Cup with the Azzurri.

“There were pitfalls everywhere but everything went quite well for Juve.”

Roma, the only other Italian team to make it into the tournament’s group stage for the 2014-15 campaign, weren’t as fortunate as the Turin giants and were matched up with Bayern Munich, Manchester City and CSKA Moscow in Group E.
