Chelsea midfielder edging closer to AC Milan

According to reports in Italy AC Milan are one step closer to securing the services of Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel while fellow Dutch international and Manchester United target Nigel De Jong is expected to remain at the San Siro, as are strikers M’Baye Niang and Giampaolo Pazzini.

The 21-year-old moved to the London club last summer for a €10m after impressing with Vitesse in his homeland, but made just two Premier League appearances last season and is unlikely to force his way into their midfield again this term.

As Sky Sport Italia reported that the two clubs were nearing agreement they also indicated that while the Rossoneri hold an interest in teammate Fernando Torres as a replacement for the departed Mario Balotelli club officials will seek assurances over his motivation of a move to Serie A.

Van Ginkel’s expected arrival is also reiterates that Milan are no longer thought to be in the running to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster Adrien Rabiot.
