Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel is on the verge of swapping the English Premier League for Serie A.

The Dutch international is in search of more regular football and could be joining Lazio on a loan move for the up coming season.

The Biancocelesti have rivals for his signature according to English newspaper Daily Mirror in the form of AC Milan who have approached the London club with a view to a loan move as well.

The youngster’s agent yesterday admitted he wouldn’t rule out an exit from Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window and with Chelsea needing to ship out one more foreign player to meet Premier League quotas a move seems likely.

Van Ginkel as only made two first team appearances for Chelsea after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a League Cup match against Swindon Town, which kept him out for six months.
