Colombian international Carlos Carbonero has become a target for Italian giants Inter and they also plan to loan him out to Chievo.

The 24-year-old midfielder has attracted the interest of Roma in recent weeks but the Nerazzurri have come up with a plan to acquire the player from Argentine giants River Plate.

Sportitalia reports that Roma are struggling to make a deal with Carbonero’s agent and Inter would like to send Carbonero on loan to Chievo for a season before keeping him on a permanent basis.

Inter will have to pay River Plate about €300-400,000 to send Carbonero on loan with the option to purchase the player for €6-7 million.

Carbonero has played 41 matches for River since he joined the Argentine giants last year and he has scored seven goals for them.

He also played at the 2014 World Cup with Colombia and he made an appearance as a substitute in Los Cafeteros’ 4-1 win against Japan in the first round.
