Coppa Italia Round 2: Livorno and Bologna big name casualties

The Second Round of this year’s Coppa Italia concluded on Sunday with 16 matches being played.

The matches this weekend were not kind to last season’s Serie A relegated sides, as both Livorno and Bologna were knocked out.

Livorno fell at home to Bassano Virtus 2-4 while Bologna were ousted at home 1-2 after extra time to L’Aquila.

Catania advanced on in the tournament with a 1-0 victory over Sudtirol.

Other results were: Avellino 2-0 Venezia, Pisa 2-1 Carpi, Pescara 1-1 Renate (Pescara wins 5-4 on penalties), Ternana 2-1 Catanzaro, Virtus Lanciano 1-0 Alessandria, Varese 3-2 Juve Stabia, Brescia 2-1 Pro Vercelli.

Crotone 0-0 Casertana (Casertana wins 4-3 on penalties), Frosinone 0-0 Como (Como wins 3-1 on penalties), Latina 1-1 Novara (Latina wins 4-3 on penalties), Perugia 2-0 FeralpiSalo, Trapani 1-2 Cremonese, Bari 2-1 Savona.
