New Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has admitted he rejected a move to QPR before joining the Partenopei.
The former Swansea midfielder moved to Naples on a four-year contract for a fee believed to be in the region of €8 million, but admits he turned down the Premier League once more to join Rafa Benitez at Napoli.
“On the table there were two offers, one from Napoli and the other from QPR,” he told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.
“The English side’s one was the most important and Villarreal would have liked to sell me to the best offer.
“But I wanted Napoli and in the end my will decided the negotiation.
“After the World Cup I worked with a personal trainer. Serie A will start next week and in about three or four games I’ll be at the top.”
