Inter defender Dodo believes that joining the Biscione was always in his destiny and claims that he knew he would eventually end up with the Italian club at some point in his career.

The 22-year-old, who arrived at the Nerazzurri from Roma in July, is looking forward to starting the new season with the San Siro outfit and hopes that he can do well enough to earn a spot in the Brazil national team.

Dodo spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about signing with Inter and the club’s current objectives, while also commenting on his time at Roma.

“An injury I suffered when I was 19-years-old while playing at Bahia had helped me grow,” said the Brazilian.

“The day that I got injured, Juan Jesus and [Inter sporting director Piero] Ausilio were in the stands. I knew it was destiny that sooner or later I would end up playing for Inter.

“Roma? [Roma coach Rudi] Garcia has made other choices, but if he hadn’t believed in me then he wouldn’t have used me in his team so often.

“Inter’s objectives? We’re not talking about the Scudetto yet, we have to think about our first match of the new Serie A season and the return Europa League leg against Stjarnan.

“My dream? My dream is play for Brazil’s senior national team.”
