AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy is ready to return to action and play a vital role for club and country in the coming season.

El Shaarawy suffered a injury plagued 2013/2014 season making only six Serie A appearances as the first half of the season was marred by minor injures.

He then underwent surgery on his right foot in December which failed to heal effectively and ruled him out for a further 10 weeks, but when speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport the youngster revealed that he is keen to put his woes behind him.

“My injury chapter is closed. Everything has gone well and I have no more problems with my foot. I’ve never felt so much desire to return to action and I want to be a key player for my team,” El Shaarawy stated.

“Pressure does not bother me, in fact it stimulates me. I want to repay everyone that showed confidence in me. My goal is to return to the first team of Milan and the national team regardless of who’s in charge.”

El Shaarawy has scored 24 goals in 83 appearances for the Rossoneri since joining from Genoa in 2011.
