Fiat president John Elkann has described the new deal between Fiat and Juventus as the perfect winning combination.

The 38-year-old industrialist is also president and CEO of Exor, an investment company controlled by the Agnelli family which owns Juventus.

At a meeting in Turin on Thursday night it was announced that a new seven year shirt sponsorship deal had been reached between the automobile giants and the Bianconeri.

Fiat will continue to operate as the club’s sole shirt sponsor in all competitions and the Old Lady will receive €17 million per season which is €5m more than under the previous contract.

“Fiat and Juventus are the perfect winning combination,” declared Elkann.

Elkann also commented on the current controversy surrounding FIGC presidential candidate Carlo Tavecchio whom both Juventus and Roma have refused to back for the post.

“Tavecchio is totally inadequate for the job. To hold such a position you must aspire to certain behaviour.”
