Inter winger Diego Laxalt is very close to accepting a loan move to Empoli after turning down a move to Spanish club Almeria.
Laxalt’s agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito will sort out the final details with Tuscan club on Wednesday and stated that the Uruguayan youth international wanted the move so he can demonstrate his skills in Serie A.
“The player had two major deals, Almeria in Spain and Stuttgart in Germany but his objective was to prove himself in Italy,” D’Ippolito told TuttoMercatoWeb.
“Last year he had a very good six months at Bologna [but] the second part of the season a little less due to various vicissitudes and changes of coach.
“He wants to give his best in Serie A because his objective is to return to Inter as well as Inter prefer that he is in Italy to follow him better.
“The Nerazzurri are counting a lot on him.”
