Kucka has been reborn under Gasperini.

Fiorentina and Genoa have entered into talks over a player swap involving Argentina defender Facundo Roncaglia and midfielder Juraj Kucka.

Genoa are extremely interested in taking the Argentine defender on loan for the season to re-enforce Gian Piero Gasperini’s backline.

However according to La Nazione, the Viola are only interested in selling the player. Fiorentina have requested €3 million from the Grifone.

Fiorentina have given Genoa a second option and that is to swap Kucka for Roncaglia. Despite Genoa being in the market for another central defender, Kucka represents one of their key players and the club may be unwilling to sell to team that could rival them for a Europa League spot.

The 27-year-old has also worn the captain’s armband during the pre-season, but will most likely be a vice-captain behind Luca Antonelli.

Kucka has been linked with a move away from the club over the course of the last two seasons with AC Milan at the head of the list of possible suitors. The Slovakian’s season was cut short in 2013/14 with a knee injury. Prior to his injury, Kucka recorded two goals in 11 appearances.
