Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi believes the Viola’s Serie A opener against Roma will be a great challenge to begin the season.
The Italian-American forward spoke to the media in Brazil after Fiorentina’s match against Palmeiras in the Copa EuroAmericana on July 30 when he was asked about the release of this season’s Serie A fixtures.
“We are looking forward to the beginning of the season,” said Rossi to Direct TV in the post game interview.
“Roma have a great team this season and it will be a difficult match. It will be a great test to play against a strong team like them.”
Rossi also noted that he felt good in his first competitive match against Palmeiras. He also praised the squad’s performance despite the loss.
“I think the team had a great match and it’s disappointing to lose, but we’re satisfied with the way we played.”
Rossi and Fiorentina will open their 2014-15 Serie A campaign away at Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on August 31.
