Fiorentina have targeted Mallorca’s highly rated teenager Marco Asensio to boost their midfield ranks.
The 18 year old Spaniard broke into the first team last season, and impressed despite his tender years, notching up 20 appearances for the Liga Adelante side.
I Diario de Mallorca reports that Fiorentina scouts were impressed with Asensio during a scouting mission in Spain this month, and the youngster has rocketed to the top of their priorities.
The Viola face heavy competition however, with Real Madrid, Manchester City and West Ham all big admirers of the whizkid.
Barcelona have also been negotiating with the club having seen a €1.5 million offer rejected.
It is thought that any club that wishes to prise away the youngster from the club will have to pay his €4 million release clause.
