A number of Juventus players could miss this weekend’s clash against Chievo in Verona after contracting a flu virus.

Key players including Fernando Llorente, Roberto Pereyra and Sebastian Giovinco, as well as coach Massimiliano Allegri, have all been taken ill with flu symptoms.

TuttoMercatoWeb asserted that Llorente could be the biggest concern, given the squad’s uninspired performance without him in the recent TIM Trophy games.

The Spaniard was also suffering from the symptoms the most, ending training early before recording a high temperature later in the day.

Allegri too, has been absent from training and the squad has been temporarily under the charge of assistant coach Marco Landucci whilst the coach recovers.

Juventus have other injury concerns this weekend with Andrea Pirlo continuing to work separately from the other players after receiving a knock to his thigh during a recent game.

Caution, on the part of the staff for Juventus, will continue for a few days and only at the last minute will Allegri decide whether or not to risk the midfielder.
