Former Chelsea midfielder begins Fiorentina career

Marko Marin has trained with his new Fiorentina teammates on Tuesday under the watchful eye of coach Vincenzo Montella.

Attacking Midfielder Marin underwent his medical in Florence on Monday but didn’t play any part in Fiorentina’s 2-1 friendly win against La Liga side Betis on Tuesday evening.

The 25-year-old Germany international signed for the Viola on a season-long loan deal from English Premier League side Chelsea and, according to FirenzeViola.it, an official press conference to announce his arrival is expected on Wednesday.

Since leaving Borussia Monchengladbach in 2007, Marin had spell with Werder Bremen before moving to Chelsea in 2012 but has since been loaned to Sevilla for the 2013/2014 season after failing to make the break through at Stamford Bridge.

Marin has been capped 16 times by the German national team and will be keen to make an impression in the coming season and help his new teammates in their bid to win the Scudetto for the first time since 1969.
