Genoa have announced the signing of Iago Falque from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee believed to be in the region of €5 million with the player set to undergo a medical on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Spanish winger failed to establish himself at Tottenham making just one substitute appearance in the league during his time in England and had been loaned out to Rayo Vallecano last season where he scored three goals in 28 appearances.

“Genoa Cricket and Football Club announce that it has acquired the outright rights for Iago Falque from Tottenham Hotspur,” confirmed a statement released on Genoa’s official website on Friday.

“The player has carried out medical examinations and will now undergo tests for sporting condition.”

Falque spent seven years in the Barcelona youth academy, before Juventus snapped him up in 2008 from where he moved to White Hart Lane on loan in August 2011 before making the switch permanent four months later.
