Roma star Gervinho has rejected interest from English and Turkish clubs to sign a new deal with the club.

The 27-year-old Ivory Coast winger was a huge success in his debut season in the capital, and both the club and player want to continue moving forward together.

Il Messaggero report that Gervinho had a €20 million minimum fee release clause in his current contract, and there were offers from England and Turkey but the player wished to stay and renew with club.

It is thought the players close relationship with coach Rudi Garcia, who he also played under at Lille, was a major influence in his decision to continue at the Serie A club.

Gervinho netted 11 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions last season for Roma.
