Hamburg are close to announcing the transfer of Valon Behrami from Napoli after the player signed a contract with Bundesliga side.
The 29-year-old had his medical on Thursday morning and all that remains is the official confirmation of the former Lazio and Fiorentina midfielder’s transfer.
Sky Sport Italia has claimed that Behrami, who had stormed off the training session after an argument with Napoli coach Rafa Benitez just a few days ago, has completed a move to the German outfit for a fee in the region of €4.5 million and will be presented to the press tomorrow.
“There was no space for the player in Rafa Benitez’s side and so we decided let the player go,” Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said confirming the departure of the Swiss international who spent two seasons at the Naples club having moved back to Italy from West Ham United in 2011.
