Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik insists his side will look to Serie A after their early exit from the Champions League.
Despite Hamsik snatching an early lead in the second half Napoli were beaten by Spanish side Athletic Club 3-1 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate during the Champions League second leg playoff round.
“We are disappointed, now I have no words however we should react promptly” Hamsik told the press.
“I am sorry because my goal was worthless. It was an important goal, we did not manage to pull it off and now we should be focused on the championship.
“We are professional players, we have to restore this outcome and begin the Serie A in the best way since Sunday’s match in Genova.
“It’s a huge disappointment, we will speak tomorrow and we will be ready to start again”.
