Hellas Verona are set to complete the signing of Udinese’s Uruguay U20 international Nicolas Lopez on a season-long loan.

The former Roma forward has been targeted by head coach Andrea Mandorlini in order to add more squad depth and boost their fire power.

As part of the loan deal Verona will be able to sign Lopez, who will earn around €600,000 per season, for €18 million at any point, according to Sky Sport Italia, and Roma would also stand to receive €5.5m as part of a sell-on clause with Udinese.

The 20-year-old began his career at Nacional in his native Uruguay before he was snapped up by Roma in 2012, where he spent just a single season, before switching to Udinese.
