Napoli centre forward Gonzalo Higuain admitted that his side were not at their best against Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday night.
The Partenopei won the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Jose Callejon and a 95th minute Jonathan De Guzman winner, while it was Mauricio Pinilla who found the net for the home side.
“We did not play like we wanted, but we had to win and we did,” said the Argentinean said.
“We need to improve and many players are yet to be fully fit after the World Cup.
“It was the first game of the season and now we are more confident.”
