Inter have reportedly turned down a loan offer from Valencia for midfielder Fredy Guarin.

The 28-year-old has been steadily linked with Manchester United and Zenit St Petersburg in recent weeks and it seems Valencia have now entered the race for his signature as well, though the Spanish side’s bid has apparently fallen short of the Biscione’s expectations.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter immediately rejected the Taronges’ attempt to land the Colombian on a season-long loan with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the 2014-15 campaign and would be waiting for a higher offer.

Reports also suggest that the Nerazzurri are willing to offload Guarin in the closing days of the summer transfer window, but have set an asking price of around €18 million for his services.

The midfielder scored four goals and provided nine assists in his 31 Serie A appearances for the San Siro outfit last term.
