Inter defender Juan Jesus believes that the Biscione will be able to have a successful season if everyone on the team is willing to help out in all aspects on the pitch.

The Nerazzurri will be kicking off their 2014-15 Serie A campaign away at Torino on August 31, but will first be hosting Stjarnan at the San Siro in the second leg Europa League play-off meeting between the two sides on Thursday, and the 23-year-old admits that his team will have to avoid underestimating anyone if they want to do well.

Juan Jesus spoke during Inter’s pre-match press conference on Wednesday about what the Serie A side must do to win their European tie with Stjarnan and what should be done throughout the new season, while also commenting on what roles he could play in the defence.

“We have to think about playing a great game without underestimating anyone,” said the Brazilian, who helped Inter secure a 3-0 win over the Icelandic club in the first leg.

“Tomorrow we have to play in the way we know best. The defence must be made up of the whole team, helping each other in every moment of the game.

“If the midfielders can act as a filter then it becomes easier for us to defend and then we can have a great season.

“Could I play as a full-back? I’ve already played in that role in Brazil, so I can also do it here.”
