Juventus are showing interest in Palermo striker Abel Hernandez and have made contact with the Rosanero in recent days about a possible transfer.

The Bianconeri are still in the market for more striking options and were previously linked with Monaco’s Radamel Falcao. However, that deal looks to be dead due to Monaco’s asking price for the Colombian.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Hernandez would be a cheap option for Juventus as the player is rumoured to want a change of scenery.

The Italian giants have competition as Benfica, Porto, Newcastle and Sunderland have all been linked to the Uruguayan’s signature.

Hernandez has been with Palermo since 2008, scoring 36 goals in 122 matches. Last season the Uruguayan tallied 14 goals as Palermo gained automatic promotion to Serie A by winning the Serie B championship.

Hernandez is evaluated at around €12 million, but that fee will have to be divided between Palermo and the player’s former club Penarol due to various sell on fees that were worked into the original contract.

Juventus already purchased Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid earlier this summer and want Hernandez to compete with Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Morata for a starting position.
