Juventus are targeting Palermo’s Stefano Sorrentino to serve as a back up to Gianluigi Buffon if Sassuolo are successful in luring Marco Storari away from the Bianconeri.

Sassuolo have targeted Storari and are pressing hard for the 37-year old veteran as the Neroverdi must move quickly in light of the broken left tibia suffered in training on Monday to last year’s mainstay keeper Gianluca Pegolo.

Sorrentino has been a regular starter for the Rosanero, appearing in 32 Serie B matches last season, since signing from Chievo in January 2013 for €4 million but despite the deputy role at Juventus he may find it difficult to resist the lure of Turin, Sky Sport Italia report.

The 35-year old veteran began his professional career with Juventus back in the 1997 season, although he didn’t feature in a match in that season, and subsequently moved to cross-town rival Torino where he played for seven seasons before serving as the primary shot stopper for AEK Athens, Recreativo de Huelva and Chievo.
