Lazio forward Miroslav Klose has been impressed by new signing Filip Djordjevic in training and believes the Serbian could take his place in the starting line-up.

The 26-year-old recently joined the Rome based side from French outfit Nantes and Klose believes he has the quality to succeed at Lazio.

“He [Djordevic] is a player I really like,” Klose said during a Lazio press confrence. “I like what I have seen from him in training.

“I like the way he moves off the ball and the fact he is two footed. He has a great desire to work, to grow and improve himself.

“He wants to learn and is a good guy. He can take my place or we could even play together.”

Klose then went on to discuss the upcoming season and what it holds for Lazio.

“I can’t say yet [what will happen this season], I have yet to play.

“It was important for me to sign a new contract before the World Cup as I wanted to stay in Rome.

“It will be important becuase it will enable us to train and play better in both Serie A and the Coppa Italia.”
