Lazio have completed the signing of San Lorenzo defender Santiago Gentiletti.
The Argentine arrives in Rome on the back of helping his old club win there first ever Copa Libertadores title with a 2-1 aggregate win of Nacional of Paraguay.
The deal for the 29-year-old was announced on the Biancocelesti website on Wednesday night and the fee is expected to be around €2 million, with Gentiletti signing a three-year contract.
The Argentine, who holds an Italian passport will now form an all new center-back partnership with Stefan de Vrij who was signed earlier in the transfer window from Feynoord.
The signing of Gentiletti might not appease the Stadio Olimpico faithful where poor season ticket sales has put more pressure on president Claudio Lotito to spend as protests continue to overshadow the coming season.
