Rolin – Catania

Lazio could make a move for Catania defenders Alexis Rolin and Nicolas Spolli as they look to add defensive reinforcements following the recent arrival of Dutch centre-back Stefan de Vrij.

Twenty-five-year-old Rolin has spent the last two seasons at the Rossazzurri following his move from home town club Nacional of Montevideo in 2012, while 31-year-old Spolli joined the Sicilian club in 2009 from Argentine side Newell’s Old Boys.

According to Il Messaggero, Lazio president Claudio Lotito could look to sign one or both of the defenders with any potential deal expected to be an initial loan with the option to buy in 2015.

It is also reported that the Biancocelesti are keeping tabs on Cristian Zapata of AC Milan and Parma’s Gabriel Paletta as Lotito looks to appease pressure from fans following the clubs lack of activity in the transfer market.
